Greentalent, recruiter specialized in search and selection of professionals and managers in the Energy, Engineering and Environment market, on behalf of an international developer of green and clean energy projects, such as renewables, H2, interconnections and energy, is looking for a:

International senior business development manager – renewables

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in originating, developing and bringing to financial close energy/renewables and infrastructure projects (i.e. Wind, Solar, HVDC others), setting-up and managing joint ventures. This role will involve working on in autonomy on complex projects, having international exposure (Africa/Middle East), project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The role requires proficiency within energy markets and policy frameworks and a strong grasp of technical, financial, and legal concepts relevant in the renewable energy industry.

Key responsibilities

• Framing, originating, valuing and developing new project and investment opportunities in a) renewable energy, b) clean hydrogen (and derivatives) and c) energy infrastructure projects (electric interconnectors and export infrastructure)
• Conducting detailed market and regulatory analysis, identify leads and prospects aligned with company strategy
• Lead due diligence process on companies and assets and preparing briefing documents and investments recommendations
• Interacts with local stakeholders (e.g. government, institutions, partners, suppliers) on the day-to-day activities associated to the projects (authorization, permits, financing, ancillaries agreements)
• Identify and negotiates commercial agreements (land, procurement, consultant)
• Interacts and coordinates third-party advisors
• Interacts and supports corporate functions (i.e. technical, finance) in project related activities.

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of experience in energy/ renewable energy industry 
• Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and efficiently handle complex situations 
• Proficiency in project development process, energy markets structures (regulated, deregulated) and policies (federal regulation and incentives) 
• Experienced in negotiation main commercial agreements for joint venture and project development
• Direct exposure to project financing. Prior experience with EU funding process a plus 
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, battery energy storage)
• Undergraduate in business, finance, economics, engineering, or another quantitative field; MBA preferred 
• Authorized to work in the EU
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
