Regulatory Affairs Manager

 

The ideal candidate is a highly organized professional with strong attention to detail and solid knowledge of the Italian B2B energy regulatory framework. The candidate will play a key role in supporting regulatory compliance activities and providing first-line regulatory advice across the organization. The candidate will play a key part in supporting Shell’s B2B power and gas retailer in the Italy (Shell Energy Italia), part of Shell Energy business, by co-ordinating important regulatory compliance activities and providing first line regulatory advice and guidance to all levels of the business.

Reporting to the South East Europe Regulatory Team, the candidate will be an integral part of a team of regulatory experts committed to ensuring compliance and enabling business growth by influencing current and future policies and regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day regulatory and compliance support to Shell Energy Italia.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory Requests for Information (e.g., ARERA) and external audits.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into effective short-, medium-, and long-term commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate with commercial and functional teams to identify regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Develop advocacy strategies and represent the company in relevant industry associations.
  • Actively engage in external regulatory processes in a thought leadership capacity.
  • Support the implementation of internal business changes linked to regulatory developments.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • University degree in Law, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in the energy sector with a focus on B2B regulation.
  • Proven ability to work with internal stakeholders and coordinate cross-functional activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English.

 

Location: Milan, with flexible working arrangements available.
