Head of Service & Construction

As Head of Service & Construction Site, you will lead a newly established department within the Operations division. You will be responsible for building and managing a wide range of competencies across Service, Erection, Commissioning, and Start-up activities related to Flue Gas Treatment Plants, which serve complex industrial processes in sectors such as Glass, Biomass & Incineration, Cement & Lime, Food & Pharma, and Chemical & Petrochemical.

Responsibilities:

• Implement a service set-up aimed at meeting after-market client demands, including spare parts, maintenance, consultancy, training, retrofit, and revamp activities;
• Manage construction sites under EPC contracts: assign Site Managers/Supervisors, handle technical offers, compare (in coordination with Procurement) potential erection contractors for mechanical, electrical, thermal insulation, and piping works, ensure regular technical and commercial follow-up on site progress, validate technical solutions during construction and optimize the use of manpower, tools, and cranes to prevent unexpected cost overruns;
• Oversee the commissioning and start-up of plants, including organizing the commissioning team with vendors, assigning tasks in coordination with Engineering (e.g., control logic, FAT of hardware and software), managing cold and hot commissioning phases, ensuring training and handover to the client’s O&M team, and ensuring successful plant start-up through PAC and FAC, including the warranty period;
• Supervise the planning of both internal and external resources to maintain a stable workload across the team, preventing idle time, redundancies, overlaps, and last-minute urgencies at construction sites;
• Collaborate with the Engineering Department on the preparation of O&M manuals and CE certifications, where required;
• Promote an EH&S culture within the team and across construction site operations, in strict adherence to governance.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering discipline or related discipline;
• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as Service Manager, Site Manager/Director, Sr. Project
• Manager/Director on EPC projects in international environment;
• Fluent knowledge of foreign languages, including but not limited to English;
• Availability to travel worldwide (average of 30%);
• Open mind, flexible to changes, excellent communication skills able to establish relationships with all hierarchical level.
